A Character and Our Progress

The Garth

This is the Garth.  He is one of the Characters in the first Marty Whimpel book.  Cute huh?  He has become our mascot.  He is on the back cover of the book and is my pic and Jim's pic for his profile on http://www.goodreads.com/ . 

He is a cute little character and is a differeent color than you would expect him to be.   If you want to find out more about him, read the book then let us know what you think!

We are slowly selling books, a few each day and it makes us feel good that Jim's book is finally getting out there and people are actually getting to read it.  Jim recieved his first piece of fan mail the other day from cute little Anna.  It made him so happy that he had to hang it on the  fridge!  He said it would hang there for a while and then he was going to scrapbook it! 

He is now working on the 2nd book.  He said that he is half way through it.  There is going to be a total of 7 books in this series and each one is going to be a color of the rainbow.  We can't wait to see them all sitting on a shelf.

Boxes of Books

We have ordered and have started to recieve boxes of books.  We got the first box a week and a half ago.  It was soooooo exciting to see Jim open it!  We have sold several copies already.  Yeahhhhh!  Thank you so much to those of you who have supported us through this whole process! It has been 6 years in the making and we are so happy to finally see the fruits of our labors!!!

Round two!!!!

They announced the Second Round Entrants for the 2011 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award Contest and Marty Whimpel is on the list!!!!  Yeahhhhhh!   We are sooo excited!  It went from roughly 5000 novels to 1000.  We are in the top 1000!!!  Now we have to wait until March 22, 2011 and they will announce the 250 Quarter-Finalists.

On Sunday we entered Marty Whimpel and the Curse of the Acne Pimple into the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Contest.  The winner gets $15,000 and a contract with Penguin Books.  Wish us luck!!!

Yeahhhh, we got a facebook page.  Just search for Marty Whimpel Book Series.  "Like" the page and we will enter you into a drawing for one of the first copies of the book. The author will even autograph it for you!!!

We got it!!!!

The Proof copy of the book came in the mail yesterday!  We need to make a few changes, resumbit it, get another proof, and the it will be ready to order.   Yeahhhhhh!  Hopefully it is only a few more weeks.

Exciting News!!!!

We just ordered the proof copy of the first book.  We should be getting it this week sometime and once we approve it anyone can order it.  It is softcover and has about 420 pages.  We can't wait to finally see it in book form!!!

Printed Soft Cover Book

We are working hard to get the book in a printed version.  Hopefully we will have it avail. soon. We will make sure to let all of you know when we do.  We have had so many people tell us that they don't like electronic versions of the book.  They want one they can hold in their hands and turn the pages.  It makes us happy to hear that because that is what this book is about.
